Part of the Surfer Spirit involves giving back to our community and protecting our environment. A portion of all proceeds are donated to The Surfrider Foundation to support environmental and community causes

THE SURFRIDER SPIRIT SESSIONS:

Inspired by the messages in "The Surfer Spirit" a team of surfers are helping at-risk youth redirect their lives through surfing.

A judge in the juvenille justice system offers select teens the opportunity to participate in a 6-week series of professionally conducted surf lessons coupled with talk circles guided by a therapist (and/or counselor) and Surfrider Foundation ocean educators and mentors.

Each session focuses on a life theme based on a page of the Surfer Spirit book and will include sections of the Surfrider Foundation Education manual. Sessions also will include ocean sport etiquette and basic water safety.

The Surfrider Foundation has set up a special fund for the program and welcomes donations. $35 pays for one lesson for one teen. $50 covers the cost of a rash gaurd and/or surf shorts. $500 sponsors one teen for the entire duration of the program. All donations are tax deductible.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILTY:
Our books are printed with environmentally friendly soy inks on post-consumer recycled paper and a percentage of the proceeds from "The Surfer Spirit" will go to the Surferfoundation.

We hope that "The Surfer Spirit" will continue to inspire people to live in greater awareness of their spirits while celebrating their passions and joy in life.
